As it turns out, our love story had quietly begun long before we ever said hello. We attended the same university at different times, crossed paths at church gatherings, and had been Facebook friends for years without ever meeting. Somehow, our story was unfolding in the background all along — simply waiting for the right moment.

That moment came on 16 May 2024, when we unexpectedly met at Menlyn Mall in Pretoria. After a short conversation, we went our separate ways, each carrying a spark we couldn’t quite ignore. A few days later, he sent her a Facebook DM asking for her WhatsApp number, and what started as casual chats quickly became laughter, warmth, and an undeniable connection.

Not long after, he asked her on a date — and, in a move that set the tone from the very beginning, drove all the way from Pretoria to Polokwane for it. A week later, on 21 October 2024, their relationship officially began.

From there, love moved with grace and purpose. Two months later she met his parents, March 2025 he proposed, May 2025 lobola discussions took place and the young couple was married. By June 2025 she was warmly welcomed into his family and given her new name, Amila.

And so, what began as missed timing and quiet familiarity became a story filled with love, faith, laughter, and grace — proof that what is meant for you will always find its way to you.
